Where We Go From Our Arlington Shop
We run calls from Arlington out to Lorton, Tysons, and Fort Belvoir. See which towns we reach, what housing era each one has, and what that means for your repair.

What It Costs and Why
We don't post a flat price list because the two biggest cost drivers aren't the same from house to house: what's wrong with the door, and what era of hardware it's built on. A torsion spring snap on a 1990s double door with standard-width track is a different job than the same failure on a 1960s single door with side-mounted hardware nobody stocks on the truck.
Across this service area, homes were mostly built between 1940 and 2001, with the median landing around 1976, and most of the stock across the 37 named towns we serve actually dates to the 1960s and 70s. That matters because older openers and tracks sometimes need a part ordered rather than pulled off the shelf, which adds a day or two, not a markup. We quote the job after we see the door, not before.
Distance from Arlington plays a smaller role. A stop in a mile away, costs us nothing extra to reach. A job out in Lorton, fourteen miles south, means more truck time, and that can show up in the number. We'd rather tell you that up front than pad a quote and call it a travel fee.
With median household income at $137,878 across roughly 254,635 households in this area, most people here replace a failing opener or spring rather than nurse it along for another winter. That's the honest math behind most of our jobs.

How the Visit Works
We work out of Arlington and drive to you, we don't keep a second crew stationed in any of these towns. When you call, we ask what the door is doing, or not doing, and roughly how old the house is, since that tells us what hardware to expect before the truck even leaves.
On site, we check the obvious failure first, spring, cable, opener, track, then look at what's around it. On older stock, especially that 1960s-70s band that covers most of this service area, a spring failure often means the opposite spring and the cable drums aren't far behind, so we'll point that out rather than fix one side and let you call again in a month.
Far stops take longer to schedule around, simply because of drive time, Lorton and Fort Belvoir are the longest hauls on our list, while a mile north-northwest, often fits into the same afternoon as a job near the shop. We'll tell you where your town falls on that line when you call.
One limitation worth saying plainly: if your hardware is old enough that the part isn't something we carry, we'll order it. That can mean a short wait before the second visit. We won't install a mismatched part just to finish the job same-day.
What to expect
Frequently asked
Straight answers about garage door repair in Arlington. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Why does my spring keep breaking in winter?
Cold weather stiffens steel and shortens the usable cycle life of a torsion spring, and a lot of Arlington's older installations are running the original wind count from a house built in the 1960s or 70s. That spring was never rated for the load a heavier insulated door puts on it decades later, so cold snaps tend to be when it finally gives.
Will you repair a door instead of replacing it?
Usually, yes. We repair before we suggest replacement in most cases. The exception is when the repair cost starts closing in on what a new door system runs, or when the hardware is old enough that parts have to be special-ordered every time something fails. We'll tell you straight when you've hit that point.
Do you carry parts for older torsion systems on the truck?
Not always. Some hardware tied to houses built before the 1980s isn't something we stock as standard inventory, since it's not what gets installed new anymore. If your door needs one of those parts, we'll tell you at diagnosis and order it rather than guess and charge for a part that doesn't fit.
How far out do you drive for a same-day call?
We take same-day calls out to about 10 to 12 miles from Arlington on most days, covering areas like Springfield, Burke, and Mount Vernon. Farther jobs, like Lorton at roughly 14 miles, we can usually still fit in, but scheduling depends on what else is on the truck's route that day.
