Getting started

How to reach us

Tell us what the door is doing and roughly where you are - that is enough to know whether it is a same-visit fix or something that needs a part ordered first.

  1. 1

Call and tell us what it’s doing

    (571) 517-9263 - describe the symptom and roughly where you are.

  2. 2

    Or send it in writing

Use the request form if it’s easier than talking.

  3. 3

    We diagnose on site

A technician tests the door under power and by hand before anything is quoted or replaced.

  4. 4

    You approve the plan

You hear what failed and what it takes to fix it - the work starts only after that.

Who You Are Dealing With

Call (571) 517-9263 and you'll talk to someone who can look at your address and tell you what's likely wrong before a truck leaves the shop. Our office sits at 3401 Fairfax Dr, Arlington, VA 22201, a mile south of. We don't run a call center that reads scripts - whoever picks up has worked a bay door before and can ask the right follow-up questions: does the opener click but not move, does the spring look stretched or snapped clean, is the noise coming from the track or the hinges. If we can save you the service call by walking you through a reset, we will. That costs us a job and saves you money, and we'd rather you trust the next call you make to us.

What We Actually Do

  1. We work on torsion and extension springs, openers, track alignment, cables, rollers, and panel replacement on single and double garage doors

A lot of the housing in this service area went up between 1940 and 2001, with the median build year sitting around 1976 - that means a mix of original hardware from the 1960s and '70s still running on houses that have had two or three owners since.

  2. Those older torsion setups often use parts that current big-box doors don't carry

So diagnosing the actual hardware generation before we quote anything matters more here than it would on a newer build. What we don't do: we don't sell or install gates, fences, or security systems, and if your door's frame or header is rotted past the point a new door can seat into, we'll tell you that's a carpentry job first, not a door job.

Where We Travel

We cover the Arlington service area and the near-in communities around it: Bailey's Crossroads, Lake Barcroft, Falls Church, West Falls Church, Lincolnia, Idylwood, Pimmit Hills, Annandale, Rose Hill, Dunn Loring, Tysons, Belle Haven, North Springfield, Merrifield, Springfield, Franconia, Wakefield, Mantua, Groveton, Hybla Valley, West Springfield, Fort Hunt, Woodlawn, Wolf Trap, Oakton, Burke, Newington, Mount Vernon, Fort Belvoir, Lorton itself, a mile north of our shop. That's a wide stretch - Lorton sits 14 miles out, Fort Belvoir 12 - so if you're near the far edge of that range, say so when you call and we'll tell you honestly what the drive time looks like that day rather than guess.

What Comes Next

  1. When you call (571) 517-9263, have the door brand or opener model handy if you know it

And describe what the door is doing - stuck, off-track, loud, or dead.

  2. Winters here fall in a cold, severe climate band, and cold-stiffened springs or frozen track seals are a common reason doors seize up in the morning

So mention if the trouble started after a cold stretch.

  3. We'll set a window, show up, diagnose on site, and give you a price before any work starts

Not after. If the fix isn't worth it against a full replacement, we'll say so instead of patching something that'll fail again in a season.

Door stuck open or won’t close?

A garage door that won’t close leaves your home open. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll help you figure out the fastest way to get it secured.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Arlington. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my spring keep breaking in winter?

Cold weather stiffens steel and shortens the usable cycle life of a torsion spring, and a lot of Arlington's older installations are running the original wind count from a house built in the 1960s or 70s. That spring was never rated for the load a heavier insulated door puts on it decades later, so cold snaps tend to be when it finally gives.

Will you repair a door instead of replacing it?

Usually, yes. We repair before we suggest replacement in most cases. The exception is when the repair cost starts closing in on what a new door system runs, or when the hardware is old enough that parts have to be special-ordered every time something fails. We'll tell you straight when you've hit that point.

Do you carry parts for older torsion systems on the truck?

Not always. Some hardware tied to houses built before the 1980s isn't something we stock as standard inventory, since it's not what gets installed new anymore. If your door needs one of those parts, we'll tell you at diagnosis and order it rather than guess and charge for a part that doesn't fit.

How far out do you drive for a same-day call?

We take same-day calls out to about 10 to 12 miles from Arlington on most days, covering areas like Springfield, Burke, and Mount Vernon. Farther jobs, like Lorton at roughly 14 miles, we can usually still fit in, but scheduling depends on what else is on the truck's route that day.
