Who You Are Dealing With

We work on garage doors in Arlington and the surrounding area, out of 3401 Fairfax Dr, Arlington, VA 22201. That's it. We don't run a call center, we don't franchise out to other towns, and we don't tell you a made-up founding year to sound established. What we can tell you is what we work on and where, and let the job itself speak for the rest.

Most of what we see comes out of housing built between 1940 and 2001, with a lot of it dating to the 1960s and 70s across the named areas we cover. That matters because a door and opener installed on a house from that era is often a different animal than what goes into new construction - different spring sizing, different track clearance, sometimes hardware nobody stocks on the truck anymore. When you call, we're not guessing at what decade your garage was built; we're used to seeing it.

We don't have a rating or review count to quote you, and we're not going to invent one. If you want to know whether we're any good, the quote itself and the way we talk you through it is the only proof we can offer up front.

What We Actually Do

  1. We repair and replace garage doors, springs, openers, tracks, rollers, and cables

Broken torsion spring on a double door, an opener that grinds but won't lift, a track that's bent from a backed-into bumper - this is the work. What we can't do over the phone is tell you an exact price without knowing a few things: the door size, whether it's a single or double, what kind of spring system it has (torsion versus extension), the age and brand of the opener if one's involved, and whether the track or hardware is bent or just worn. A quote based on "my garage door is broken" is a guess.

  2. A quote based on photos or a look in person is a number you can trust

Some things genuinely can't be priced sight unseen. Rust and corrosion on older torsion hardware, hidden track damage behind a panel, an opener that's been rewired by somebody before us - none of that shows up until we're standing in the garage. Arlington's cold winters are hard on springs and rollers sitting in an unheated garage, and a spring that looks fine in July can be seizing up by January. We'd rather tell you that up front than price it wrong twice. If a repair would cost more than a straight replacement, we'll say so. That's not a sales pitch, it's just math.

Where We Travel

We cover Arlington and work out into the surrounding service area, which runs from close-in spots like about a mile north-northwest, out to Bailey's Crossroads and Lake Barcroft a few miles south and west. Further out we reach Falls Church, West Falls Church, Lincolnia, Idylwood, Pimmit Hills, Annandale, Rose Hill, Dunn Loring, Tysons, and Belle Haven, all within roughly four to seven miles.

Past that we go as far as North Springfield, Merrifield, Springfield, Franconia, Wakefield, Mantua, Groveton, and Hybla Valley, eight or nine miles out, and on the far edge of our range we'll take jobs in West Springfield, Fort Hunt, Woodlawn, Wolf Trap, Oakton, Burke, Newington, Mount Vernon, Fort Belvoir, and Lorton - the furthest of those sitting around fourteen miles away.

Across that whole area there are roughly 254,635 households, about 88,312 of them in owner-occupied houses, which is the group most of our calls come. If your address isn't in this list, call anyway and ask - distance alone doesn't rule a job out, it just affects scheduling.

What Comes Next

  1. Call (571) 517-9263 and tell us what's going on with the door

What it's doing, what it's not doing, and roughly how old the door and opener are if you know. A photo helps more than a long description. From there we can usually give you a realistic price range on the phone and a firm number once we're looking at it in person. The median household income across our service area runs around $137,878, and we size our quotes to the actual job in front of us, not to what we assume a neighborhood can afford.

  2. A worn roller costs what a worn roller costs whether the house is new or from 1976

We don't push replacement when a repair will hold, and we don't quote a repair price and then find reasons to upsell once we're in the garage. If something changes once we open the door up - rust we couldn't see, a spring under more tension than expected - we'll tell you before we touch it, not after. Visit the homepage at / for more on what we do, or just call and we'll take it from there.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Arlington. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my spring keep breaking in winter?

Cold weather stiffens steel and shortens the usable cycle life of a torsion spring, and a lot of Arlington's older installations are running the original wind count from a house built in the 1960s or 70s. That spring was never rated for the load a heavier insulated door puts on it decades later, so cold snaps tend to be when it finally gives.

Will you repair a door instead of replacing it?

Usually, yes. We repair before we suggest replacement in most cases. The exception is when the repair cost starts closing in on what a new door system runs, or when the hardware is old enough that parts have to be special-ordered every time something fails. We'll tell you straight when you've hit that point.

Do you carry parts for older torsion systems on the truck?

Not always. Some hardware tied to houses built before the 1980s isn't something we stock as standard inventory, since it's not what gets installed new anymore. If your door needs one of those parts, we'll tell you at diagnosis and order it rather than guess and charge for a part that doesn't fit.

How far out do you drive for a same-day call?

We take same-day calls out to about 10 to 12 miles from Arlington on most days, covering areas like Springfield, Burke, and Mount Vernon. Farther jobs, like Lorton at roughly 14 miles, we can usually still fit in, but scheduling depends on what else is on the truck's route that day.
